You probably have heard people say that making money online is easy, and most likely the people saying this were also running successful blogs and selling money making books. Of course these guys are going to say it’s easy – firstly because they’ve already done it so it obviously does seem fairly easy to them now (hindsight is a wonderful thing) but secondly because they’re selling that book and they want you to think it’s simple as a result.
I’m not here to sell you anything, but nevertheless I’m going to agree with this rather sweeping statement and I’m going to say that yes, it probably is easy when you know how to approach making money online. What’s important then is just thinking about it in the right way and knowing what you need to do in order to make money without too much challenge.
Passive Income
Once you set up your online income stream you’ll find that making more money, and continuously really is rather easy. The reason for this is that a lot of techniques for making money online focus on passive income – and passive income is essentially money that you don’t work for. By nature it’s very easy to earn money with passive income.
An example of this might be for instance earning money from a website with advertising. You make money each time someone clicks on an ad. Once you start getting people to visit your site through Google then this means you will be able to make money without needing to do anything – the website will stay there and your page will make money without you’re doing anything additional to maintain it. As a result you can literally make money while you’re sleeping and that’s what is meant by ‘passive’ income.
There are also many other forms of passive income though as well. For instance if you are selling anything digital such as an e-book or a game, and if you are selling it via an online store of some kind, then you won’t need to worry about delivering it or anything else.
Adding to Your Pot
This then means that you only need to put in work right at the beginning when you build the site/make the book – and if you want you can always hire someone to do that or use some content with an open license to make even that bit easier.
And then from there you can start making money without having to do anything further. There’s no investment for something digital (other than perhaps hosting or a signing up fee) and that means that you can create as many books as you like and stick them all on the Kindle store, or you can build as many websites as you want and upload content to all of them indefinitely.
And then if you only make a tiny bit of money from them it will hardly matter. If you only make $1 a day from your website and its AdSense then that will still be $365 a year – which is free money for doing nothing.
Likewise if you make $5 a month from selling a book on Kindle – then that’s still $60 a year which again is something completely free. You can use the same content from your site in your book, and so for a weeks work you can start making $425 a year every year.
But the point is that it won’t be every year, because if you upload content every now and then you’ll start making more from your AdSense. And if you choose to sell 5 books then suddenly that $60 a year becomes $300 a year.
Then there are all the other simple ways to make money like selling an affiliate product and making a landing page. Again you lose nothing if it doesn’t work, but if it works even slightly then it will all add up. If you’re currently not dipping your toes into at least a couple of ways to supplement your income online then you’re missing out in a big way. Because really, genuinely, honest… it is easy.
